  Not interested in marriage/romance?

  okay, so the site is full of people talking about their husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, ex-wives, ex-husbands, ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends, childhood crushes, current crushes, future crushes, favorite positions, etc.. .

  by the very nature of rejecting marriage, there's very rarely an occasion to voice our disinterest in romance.

  we just kind of sit their silently while everyone else talks about their sexual and romantic preferences.. i'm sure i'm not the only one here, so how about it?

  That is EXACTLY what I mean. You can be involved with someone but not be required to have them disrupt your private life in your own home. I would NEVER share a bedroom with a man. He would have to have his own if he did live with me. I like my life to be as peaceful as possible without those irritations you mentioned. By the way, I think the grouchy part comes from learning it and using it to get what he wants. He knows what works. I hate that with a passion! I'd tell him to grow up and handle himself better.

  I'm opposed to marriage because it's archaic and has a very poor success rate, and so does living together. Let's face it, roommates get awfully irritating after a while. I'm not against romance, but why does everyone seem to think that they must live together to prove their love? I like my privacy and freedom to come and go whenever I please. It's complicated with a roommate especially when envolved in a romance with said roommate. There is that sense of ownership the comes with live in lovers. Live ins that aren't married have three times the rate of domestic violence than do married people. Too many control issues for my taste. I am not against romance so long as it doesn't interfere with my privacy and freedom. I would love to have a romantic relationship with someone, just not live with anyone. Too close is not good.

  The reason given for the Maggis' retreat and not telling Harrod about Jesus was that an Angel appeared before them and warned them of catastrophies that would befall them if they told Harrod so they left for another place and never returned to Harrod. If they returned to Harrod without telling him about where Jesus was, he would kill them. Damned if they did, damned if they didn't.

  Do you still pray?

  i was wondering about this the other day before i went to sleep, out of habit and my spiritual beliefs now, i spoke to the spiritual realm above and asked for guidance and protection.. i remember my journey of leaving the jw "borg" (a new term i have picked up here - i like it!

  ) and at first i refused to pray at all, and then i wasn't sure i wanted to or not, and then i developed my own sense of the higher power above and spirituality and every night before i sleep, i feel blessed to have another day of life, to do it all again.

  even on days when i am not having such a good day, i take time to ask the higher realm for strength and direction.

  No, but I do consider and thank nature for giving me food sometimes. It just makes me more thankful and not take things for granted so much. It's a reminder.

  No, but I really looked. I looked all over and never found him. I hope someone finds him soon. It's winter and cold outside. From what I've heard, he seems like a nice guy. You know, I always wanted him to be real, but he never showed himself to prove it. Too bad. I'd like to have known someone like him. Wait a minute! I know many people like that. They are my real friends! With friends like mine, who needs Jesus?

  These are really great responses. Thank you! I don't need to quit because I am not addicted (yet), it's not a regular thing with me, and I really do enjoy it when I do light up. It's legal and I'm way of age to make such a personal decision. Next time she says anything, I'll remind her of being a witness for god and not a judge. That one could be useful for my family, too.

  No, but there are plenty of non-Christlike X-tians here in the east. I'm near NJ. The staunchier the X-tian, the less Christian they seem. So like the Pharisees.

She sure did ruin a perfectly good morning smoke. Have you ever been told off by a non-JW for not acting as Christian as they would have you act?

  it seems a long time ago now, but we used to regularly have an ozzie's weekend poll - kinda weekend stuff, y'know?

  they ran weekly for three years but they faded - my ill health didn't help.

  anyway, it's sunday evening downunderneath youse lot and things seem to be kinda quiet on the board - (where the hell are ya???
